Ahead of the World Cup, The Globe Pub Receives Top Sports Bar Honors
Stop by Northcenter landmark The Globe Pub for the next month or so and you’ll see a colorful United Nations’ worth of flags greeting you at the entrance. Chicago’s eminent neighborhood soccer bar is getting ready for the World Cup (the aforementioned flags represent each participating country), and over the next month, will be packed with Americans and expats from all over the globe (see what we did there?) cheering on their teams.

Browntrout Team Teaches Sustainability, Healthy Eating to Coonley Students
When Sean Sanders opened his acclaimed restaurant, Browntrout, in Northcenter five years ago, he hoped that in addition to great seasonal food, he could serve up lessons about local and sustainable eating to the community. "What I've realized is that everybody is pretty set in their ways," Sanders says. "The most effective way to create change in the food system is to teach children how to eat better." So that's just what he's doing.
